We're just two ordinary girls who share the same passion for nail art! Xinyi started off with her amazing french tipped nails, so one day at college Jade asked, "How did you do that?" So she experimented nail art on her own after that with a bit of Xin Yi's guidance :) Not too long later our love for nail art grew even more and was brought to a whole new level because nearly every fortnight we'll have new designs to look forward to. It's funny that we squeal over nail designs! it sounds bimbotic but yeah we truly enjoy this. We're not professionals since we only do this as part of our leisure. Halloween Nail Art Tutorial
Girls, as promised this is my first nail art tutorial. Hope you find this helpful! :)
Design No 1: Happy ghost with candy canes decoration
- Paint the frame of the ghost with its hand slightly extended and fill in with white nail polish.
- Dot the eyes with nail dotter, and paint the mouth. If you notice, initially I did its mouth to be a curved shape, but I preferred it to be a D shape, so I painted a straight line across in the end.
- Draw on mini candy canes.
- Stripe them with red nail polish.
Design No 2: Jack O Lantern
- Outline the shape of a pumpkin and fill in with your preferred orange base nail polish.
- Draw the outlines of the pumpkin using a darker shade of orange. Fill in some of the spaces with shimmery orange polish (this step is optional).
- Dot a green nail polish on the tip of the pumpkin. Paint two triangles for the eyes, and a smaller one for the nose. Paint a jagged zig zag for its teeth.
- Draw swirly vines with a black nail polish and add on some leaves. I added on the hexagonal flakes at the end.
Design No 3: Lollipop
- Draw the frame of a lollipop and fill in with white nail polish.
- Carefully paint on swirls using a pink nail polish. Fill the lollipop stick with a light orange polish.
- Add on hexagonal flakes and paint over with top coat.
Design No 4: Bat with candy canes decoration
- Using a fine tipped brush, paint on an oval shape in black nail polish.
- Starting from the inner side of the body, draw a curved line facing upwards, and outwards. Then, swipe your brush downwards, in a curved line. As for the bottom part of the wing, draw two curved lines, the inner one slightly smaller than the outer one.
- Add on the ears and highlight with a grey nail polish.
- Using a nail dotter, place two dots of white nail polish for the eyes, and two smaller black dots for the pupils. Draw the candy canes.
Design No 5: Heart shaped skull
- Draw a heart shape design and fill in with white.
- Using a white nail striper, draw a “X” below the heart. Then, use a nail dotter for drawing the details of the bones.
- Paint pink nail polish over the white. Use a nail dotter to make the eyes, and use a fine tipped brush to draw the smile.
